He has made more than thirty short films, exploring a wide variety of narratives and characters, sharp and agile dialogues, extreme film characters, strange and dystopian atmospheres characterise the work of this prolific Spanish filmmaker. His films have been shown at hundreds of festivals, receiving dozens of national and international awards. His three nominations for The Méliès Award and his candidacy for The Goya for best fiction short film for his work ‘Downunder‘ stand out.
Fernando debuts in the feature film with ‘Standard‘ released in the theatres in 2020, in which he also signs the script and editing is quite popular, having been the first Spanish movie awarded with the Vanguard Comedy Award at the prestigious Austin Film Festival.
He has also co-directed ‘The Passenger‘, which was officially presented at Sitges film festival 2021. By the hand of Level K as international distributor the film has been sold to 60 territories.
‘The Elderly’, his third feature film, has celebrated its international premiere in Fantasia (Montreal), where it won the Cheval Noir for the best actor and had its European premier at the Official Selection of Sitges Film festival.
